SHEDDING THE SKIN

​The collective energy is positively electric right now. There’s so much excitement and change in the air, but this energy is paired with nervousness and false starts...

Like a horse behind the gate, we’re raring to go. We’re focused, we have tunnel vision and our eyes are on the prize. But why aren’t we moving yet? Why is the gate still closed?

Having so much energy to surge forward and knowing what our next move is going to be, is both invigorating and anxiety-provoking. We know that we’re moving into uncharted territory, towards the unknown and that we need to leave behind what’s familiar to us, in order to discover what we’re truly made of.

Despite our desire to bound forward into the next chapter of our lives, there seems to be unforeseen delays and obstacles. We’re in this peculiar and awkward period of stasis, like when a caterpillar has completed its chrysalis phase but the butterfly is yet to unfurl its wings for the first time.

So why are we being made to wait?
Simply put, it is not yet time for the next chapter to begin. Loose ends need to be tied up. We need to tidy up both physically and figuratively speaking, before the next stage of our lives can begin. Like a snake, we need to fully shed our old skin before the new skin can be revealed, and we can move comfortably and unencumbered once again.

To transition as seamlessly as possible from one stage to the next, try to destress and declutter. Give away/donate possessions that are no longer in alignment with you. Reflect on what the most recent chapter has taught you and express gratitude for the blessings, as well as the challenges, that helped you to grow and transform into the beautiful person that you are today. 

Be patient and have faith, as positive change is just around the corner!
