New Moon in Gemini 9º

On 30 May there will be a New Moon in Gemini at 9° which will conjunct the fixed star Aldebaran and sextile Jupiter and Mars in Aries.

Gemini represents ideas, communications and forming new connections. It is a very sociable and curious sign that likes to collect facts and information.

New beginnings involving the past

Although new moons are all about new beginnings, this particular new moon will be bringing something back up from the past (eg. a project / business idea, a friendship / professional relationship or a contract) which gives you the opportunity to view the situation with a different perspective and finally get off on the right foot.

This is because Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Mercury will be retrograde at 26° Taurus, which happens to be exactly conjunct the fixed star Algol.

The influence of Algol & Aldebaran

Algol is associated with crisis, the tale of Medusa and “losing one’s head”. With Mercury being retrograde on this fixed star, you will be able to disengage and disentangle yourself from a challenging situation in your life and the sextile to Mars and Jupiter will present an opportunity for you to take the high road and a more positive approach. 

Aldebaran is one of the 4 Royal Stars, which is associated with Archangel Michael. It is also known as the “Bull’s Eye”. Whenever we consider Aldebaran, we must always look at Antares (another fixed star) which is exactly opposite at 9° Sagittarius. Any action you take with this new moon MUST be grounded in integrity, humility and good faith, otherwise you run the risk of creating a powerful enemy.
